NEW State Requirement – Highway Work Zone Safety
Effective December 1, 2025
All North Carolina Driver’s Education students are required to complete the Highway Work Zone Safety Training course developed by the Division of Motor Vehicles as part of their driver education coursework. This Work Zone Safety training is mandatory.

How Students Access the Training
Students must complete the DMV-developed online course:

Visit: https://www.workzonesafe.com/ or click the link above

Select: “North Carolina Work Zone Safe for Teens.”
After Students Complete the Course
Students must:

Print their Certificate of Completion, and
-
Bring the certificate to iDrive HH on Vision Screening Date for verification or email it to iDriveHH@iDriveHH.com

Students must have completed this course before BTW scheduling can be done.

iDrive HH must verify students' certificates before issuing a Driver Education Completion Certificate.

Students may start to work on this course NOW
-
No Driver Education Completion Certificate is issued unless the Work Zone requirement has been met.
