Road Testing by iDrive HH 
 

​​We are now certified by DMV to offer road testing for teens who are at least 16 years old and has held their Level 1 Learner's Permit for at least 9 months they are eligible for the road test. The road test is required before moving to the Provisional Level 2 License.

Road Test Schedule

• Time slots: Every 30 minutes. Slots fill up fast!

• Road test will be conducted on Saturdays and Sundays  9am - 4pm.

• If over 10 minutes late you must reschedule.

Eligibility

• Student must be at least 16 and under 18.

• Student must hold NC Learner's Permit.

• Must hold a Learners Permit for at least 9 months.

• You must have completed the required 60 hours practice log.

• Parent/Guardian consent is required at time of testing. They must come with you to the road test.

• Test date must be on or after the eligibility date printed on the back of the permit

Fees & Payment

• $100 for Past and Current iDrive HH Students

• $140 for Non-iDrive HH Students

• $75 for Road Test Retake

• Payment due at time of Registration

Test Day Notes

• We work to keep wait times short so please be on time.

• Important: Passing is not guaranteed.

• If you do not pass, you must wait 48 hours before retaking the road test.

• It is important to bring ALL required paperwork to ensure a smooth process!

• Bring the Signed Contract

      (it will be emailed to you after registration and payment is submitted)

• Bring Driver's Learner's Permit

• Come with Parent or Guardian to sign paperwork

• Supervising Driver (if different than Parent/Guardian or appointed accompanying person)

Our Road Tests are NOT for:

• Adults over 18 years old

• Teens under 16 years old

• Teens who have not had a permit for 9 months

• Residents of a state other than NC

Does this mean I can skip the DMV and get my license with you?

No, you will still need to visit a DMV location to complete the final paperwork and photo for the Level 2 License.  Your visit should be streamlined since the need for a DMV Examiner to administer the road test will no longer be required.  The final visit to the DMV will just be to take your ID photo and turn in required DMV paperwork for the Level 2 Provisional License.  After passing the Road Test, iDrive HH will give you a document which to take to DMV to get your Level 2 Provisional License. This Document is valid for 180 days.
